A Cool Classics! Reading for the Chicago Public Library’s “Live at the Library” series

Cool Classics! Founder & Director Mara Tapp read Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney for the Chicago Public Library’s “Live from the Library” series on Friday, October 23rd. See her reading on Facebook and Instagram.

This book is about how to make the world a better place. We teach it to all our children, and it is a Cool Classics! favorite. Check out some of our students’ drawings, inspired by Miss Rumphius, about how they would make the world better, in our art galleries using the links below:

The Seabury Foundation Celebrates 70th Anniversary

In honor of its 70th anniversary, The Seabury Foundation has made a generous “Making a Difference” grant to Cool Classics!

All of us at Cool Classics! are honored to be among the three nonprofits selected for this significant grant, which will allow us to grow over the next three years.

The Seabury Foundation has long supported our work, and has definitely made a difference to organizations like Cool Classics! For that, we are profoundly grateful.

About The Seabury Foundation

“The Seabury Foundation was established in 1947 by Charles Ward and Louise Lovett Seabury. Early interests of the foundation included the major cultural and civic institutions in Chicago, educational opportunities for those who could not afford them, conservation of animals and their habitats, ground-breaking medical techniques, health care for the poor, and recreational and character-building opportunities for city children. Over 70 years later, a larger family, representing an even greater diversity of interests, seeks to respond to the challenges in our society and to an expanding number of requests from worthy organizations.”

A Win That’s an Honor!
